Our Ministries!
We are a busy loving church. If you are looking for a warm church family to call home, then you found one...
Below are all our ministries. If you have any questions or would like to get involved in any of our ministries please contact us.
Prayer Ministry The South Flint Church family is a praying family, if you have a prayer request we want it! We will partition your request to the Lord. Simply click here to send us your request.
Christian Education We have two private elementary schools in the area that offer a K - 10th. grade education. Our teachers are state certified, and denominationally certified, with continuing education! Please visit our Michigan Conference's Education website for info and details about these and other schools including high school academies.
Self-Improvement Classes Throughout the year, we conduct various classes to the community such as stop smoking, vegetarian cooking, marriage enrichment, Discipleship training, etc. Check out our web site's Events page from time to time as we will be updating it often with events that will be taking place at South Flint. You can also call 1(810) 743-9340 to hear a voice recording of events. One tidbit about health....did you know that Seventh-day Adventist's live an average of 7 years longer by following the health plan that the Bible says we should follow? Ask us what that plan is! We would be happy to show you! [top]
Small Group Bible Study The early Christian church met in people's homes to worship and fellowship, and so do we. As Adventists this same opportunity is extended to our community as several South Flint families have opened their homes on a weekly basis to study the Word of God together and to just enjoy the company of one another. This is a great way to make new friends...lifetime friends! Contact us to join a group!
Choir Ministry Music plays a big part in our ministry. South Flint has a wonderful choir that also has opportunities to perform at other churches. You do not have to be gifted in the singing arena, just have a willing spirit and heart, and let the Lord lead!
Video Tape Ministry The best part about our video tape ministry is that it is free! Numerous Bible Study seminars, and health seminars are available to be checked out and shared with your family and friends.
Disaster Relief If a disaster occurs in the area in and around our church, we have a trained individual in the Disaster Relief arena. We have a program in place where a dispatching system will alert all personnel to assist in whatever disaster occurs. In addition, the Seventh-day Adventist denomination operates a worldwide disaster relief organization called ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency). ADRA has a presence in more than 120 countries (compare that to the American Red Cross International which has a presence in only 55 countries). In 1998, ADRA funded more than 2,400 projects which directly touched the lives of more than 18 million men, women and children. That same year, ADRA International's worldwide network included almost 4,000 employees. [top]
Vacation Bible School Every summer, dedicated individuals and families at South Flint put in a lot of time and energy into a week filled of learning, fun and laughter during our VBS program. In the spring, there is a VBS training workshop that takes place at our beautiful church camp, Camp AuSable, in Grayling, Michigan, where VBS directors throughout the churches in the Michigan Conference gather for a weekend of VBS training.
Nursing Home Ministry Several members and friends of South Flint make appointments usually on Sabbath afternoons at various rest homes to put smiles on the faces of the residents through a program of singing, praying, and sharing.
Bible Studies Bible Studies is the very core of what a Seventh-day Adventist loves to do! We have several different types of Bible Studies, all covering the same Biblical doctrines. If you are interested in a Bible Study, contact us, we will be happy to assist you!
Discover Bible School We have a very active Discover Bible School at South Flint. If you are interested in receiving Bible Studies, simply send us your name and address, and we'll have a wonderful set of 26 studies sent to you that you can complete at your leisure in the privacy of your own home. And in this day and age of unwelcomed, unsolicited home visits, let us reassure you that no one will make any unannounced visits to you, unless you request such in your endevor to find truth in the Holy Word of God.
